I usually don’t write anything original for the evening 6:30 est. slot, but I wanted to give a quick update on what is going on with our MS advocacy program and the other goings on in my life.
So I have a meeting next Tuesday with the volunteer director for the Carolinas Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Could you imagine having to type that title every time? Good lord I think I would shorten to MS for my own sanity. Anyway, the advocacy speaking is moving right ahead and I am excited to say the least. It will add considerable more work to my plate, but it is a passion and a worthy cause.
A funny realization came to my mind during this whole advocacy process. I have never identified myself as being an MS person. What I mean is I have always viewed myself as a person, living life, doing what I enjoy, that, btw, happens to have MS. It was almost as if I was ignoring or not accepting the fact that I have the disease. Now that I acknowledge it, I see the importance of getting involved and helping others. Which is a great thing.

Next, the Dream Big community is growing at a phenomenal pace!! We are just over 3,100 followers strong when only 1 1/2 months ago we were at 800. Holy rapid growth Batman!! That’s 2300+ followers in 7 weeks! I will say the work involved is incredible and takes up a lot of my time, but I love every moment of writing content, answering comments and returning emails. We are getting upwards of 1,000 views per day! Can you believe that this little blog is on pace for over 20,000 this month when we only had 11,000 in May. This is all because of you guys reading and responding and I APPRECIATE EVERY SINGLE VIEW, COMMENT AND FOLLOW!! YOU GUYS AND GALS ROCK!!
(Side note: I have had a lot of folk asking why I do not read their posts more often or view their Facebook/Twitter page. I promise I would love to be able to read all the pages. I follow most of those that follow me which means I have over 3000 blogs coming across my Reader daily. Please do not take this as me acting like a big shot because that is not the case at all. I still try to view my reader and read posts, but the volume is simply overwhelming. I hope you all understand.)
Lastly, the book is coming along nicely. I am trying to write 500 words each day, but to do this I think I am going to have to change my habits and get up earlier. I am going to have to start my day around 5:30 am in order to fit in more writing as I am already allotting 8+ hours each day to the blog. And when the advocacy speaking kicks in I will have even less time. Things are getting busy so I will have to be extra cautious of how I use my time!
Well, that is it in a nutshell. MS advocacy program, blog growing, book writing…yep, that’s all. I hope each of you have a great evening or early morning depending on your place on this planet.
Oh last thing: Please give yourself more credit. You are a special, unique, awesome human being with your own set of skills and talents. Seek out your place in this world and leave your mark! As always, I love you guys and appreciate that you have joined me on this incredible journey!
Sweet dreams,
Big Dreamer
