Free Association

I am becoming better at overcoming objections as the comments I get via this blog and email requires me to respond to people making excuses.  I wish people put as much effort into succeeding as they do in excuse making.

Let me explain a reality to you: some see difficulties while others see opportunities.  Teach yourself to see opportunities.  Teach yourself to see the positive.  Teach yourself to overcome.  Teach yourself to become a person of action.  Teach yourself to network.  Teach yourself to succeed.

I can’t because I don’t have the right education.  I can’t because I don’t know the right people.  I can’t because I don’t have money.  I can’t because I don’t have the right upbringing.  I can’t because I’m not smart enough.  I can’t…I can’t…I can’t.

You do not because you don’t want it bad enough.  You wish instead of having true desire.  True desire is the person trapped in a mine that wants to live.  She digs herself to freedom with her bare hands.  That is desire.  Desire is Edwin Barnes traveling across the country as a hobo to meet Thomas Edison to have the opportunity to work with him as a business partner.  He swept Edison’s floors for several years until he made them both millionaires selling Edison’s mimeograph machine.

True desire yields success.  A burning in one’s soul that is unquenchable and unyielding.

Wishing is what hopers do.  Wishing is not desire.  Wishing is wanting to hit the lottery…no desire necessary.  Someone please give to me the life I want.  If not I will sit here and take what life gives me.

Why do I get so many excuses in my comments?

You can do anything if you truly want IT bad enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Once you find something or someone you want bad enough there will not be enough soldiers in an army to keep you separated from that which you desire.

Find your true desire and you will find your success…

  1. I think a lot of the excuses are brought on by jealousy. Most people who are stagnant don’t want others to achieve or even attempt to achieve. It shines a light on their own laziness and, like you said, lack of desire. When they hit you with negativity remember they are trying to bring you back to their way of thinking and inaction. Pay no attention and stay your course.

    1. Thank you for your thoughts. I do not take negativity from their comments, my statement was a simple observation. I have learned that some will have their eyes opened and realize they CAN change their own lives….while the majority will continue to wallow in excuses.

    1. Thank you so much!! I am not sure if you saw my awards post from last week, but that is kind of how I show my appreciation. I will link your page to my page along with a few others and say thank you in one post. I hope that is okay but I produce a lot of content and need to combine the awards posts. With that said…Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      1. And I hope you know when I say I appreciate your nomination I use those words very seriously! I am truly grateful!! You are very kind!

  2. Wise words! I think many of don’t know what we truly want, therefore we don’t know whether we have succeeded or not. Also, practising gratitude for me has helped me focus much better on what really counts. Thank you for your inspiring blog!
