I am a firm believer that when give and focus on others first it not only benefits the receiver, but it also benefits the giver. When I started this blog I had no real mission or objective. I simply started a blog to talk about things I had stuck in my head. I had no idea that I would end up writing to help people, become an Advocate for MS or an advocate for community charity.
All of these things developed over a short period of time. And it amazes me that the more I aim to help others the more life seems to give back to me! If you are struggling in any aspect of life then I strongly encourage you to stop focusing on yourself and begin focusing on others. It will boost your self-confidence and help put life in perspective! Check out this article I found by Deborah Hutton on the power of volunteering:

Oh, yes, I definitely agree. Putting our focus on others is an excellent strategy. It’s also in the Bible.
It is in most philosophies, religions, spiritual guides, psychology books that deal with interpersonal relationships. Lol yet few listen. It is no big secret, people are simply selfish in general.

Thanks so much for sharing this post today. I really needed it. I said I wanted to give back to my community and help people. It is the reason why I switched my major to educational psychology and I’m going to start working with a non-profit organization. Im so excited to help others because it will bless you as well!
