Evelina and I were walking on the beach the other night and I couldn’t help but notice all of the footprints in the sand. There were prints of all sizes, but most of them were tiny children’s prints and they were everywhere in all directions. It made me think of all the fun and enjoyment those prints represented. Building sand castles, running from big brothers with hand fulls of sand, splashing in the water, throwing Frisbees must have been a part of this footprint mayhem.
We leave footprints in life which represent the actions of our past. I try to practice actions of which I can be proud: honesty, charity, compassion, loving, , kindness, forgiveness, helpfulness, etc. If someone could read your past footprints and decipher them, would you be proud? Would the actions of your past be something you would want your children or others to follow as an example?
If so, fabulous!! If not, remember that it is never too late to begin living a life of which you can be proud. Your past does not have to dictate your future. Focus on living out traits that will elevate your mind, body and spirit; live to be virtuous!
Just thinking out loud on a Monday morning…
