Living a healthy lifestyle is not as difficult as some have made it out to be. A few simple habit changes can make a huge difference. My quick tips involve eliminating sugar drinks, eating more veggies and walking.
Did you realize that walking 5 minutes every day for one month will change your health and your life? That is a simple 2 1/2 minute walk out you front door and then 2 1/2 minutes back home; simple as pie.
Think about the times you wished you could drop a few pounds, but then left that thought in the wish pile. What if you made a decision today to walk 5 minutes every day for one week? Then after realizing how simple a 5 minute commitment is, you extended the week to one month? And then one month to 12 months?
If you combine this simple 5 minute walk with a few simple eating changes you can live a healthier lifestyle and maybe drop a few pounds while you’re at it!
Here are a few suggestions for food changes:
- only drink water/never drink sugary drinks
- eliminate processed food
- avoid fast food
- eat 1 serving of veggies 3 times per week
- monitor your calories
- eat more raw fruit and nuts
Don’t go changing too much at once! Remember, we are taking baby steps. Maybe pick to drink more water throughout the day for a couple weeks, then begin eating a few servings of veggies. Whatever you do, don’t change too much at once.
Decide today to walk 5 minutes each day and take back your health one small step at a time!
