Food for thought

Do you take time to consider how others view the world? Or, do you dig in to defend your point of view come hell or high water? I’m not saying one way is better than the other, but I sure learn more when I consider the validity of the counter-point.

  1. Whenever I find myself feeling strongly defensive about a particular point of view of mine that is under “attack”, I try to remember a quote from the movie Quills: “Are your beliefs so fragile that they cannot stand in opposition to mine? Is your God so flimsy, so weak? For shame!”

I find it knocks my hubris down quite nicely and makes me more open to others’ viewpoints.

    1. Phenomenal thought! Also, be sure to leave that with the original blogger. I promote being mindful of the one that did the work. I love reblogging as a way to continue discussions throughout the day. But we must also be aware that my reblogging is also to include the one being reblogged in the discussion. All i did was hit the share button, whereas, they did all the work. Just a thought…Danny
