Today I am going to share with you an article I found on PsyBlog written by Dr. Jeremy Dean about the negative power of making excuses:
It’s natural to make excuses for poor performance but they can be dangerous…Most of us have a strong fear of failure.
It’s partly because we don’t want to look bad in front of others but it’s also about how we see ourselves. We are afraid to fail because it damages our view of ourselves, our self-esteem.

Very good insight! We have to change our minds before we can change anything else. And stop telling ourselves lies!
It’s easier to take the path of least resistance. Making excuses then sitting in front of the TV is easier than actually going for a walk or riding a bike. It’s amazing how much better you feel after exercise though. I was finding every excuse in the book not to go for my weekly ride this morning but I forced myself to go and I feel so much better this afternoon. Slowly but surely people seem to be getting off the couch in larger numbers, keep encouraging them and keep writing, I love your blog, I just don’t have time to read it regularly. (Excuses, excuses, right?) 😁
Thank you for the encouragement Doug! And thank you for reading too!

I’m not sure where this quote comes from, but I heard a fellow teacher tell it to a student: “Excuses only impress the person making them.”
I spent too many years of my life making excuses. Now, I just want to keep moving forward every day of my life. Thanks, for sharing this, Dray!
Peace, love & empowerment to all,
