Debt vs Debt Free

  1. I used to work at a call centre in the collections department (overdue credit cards) and I experienced first hand how people felt when they couldn’t pay their bills. Some I really felt sorry for (disability, job loss), but frankly, most were idiots who fell for the “don’t pay for 24 months” scam. People don’t realize that if they don’t make their payments at the 24 month point, their interest charges start from day 1. Very costly, and paying $10 min payment gets you in more and more debt.

I got cursed and screamed at every day, knowing that was part of the job due to frustration from the customers, but if you don’t need it, don’t buy it. Now that I got that off my chest for Monday!
