Goals Are Won and Lost in How You Conduct Yourself On a Daily Basis

My new job at the newspaper is great and I love every single moment.  My biggest challenge is building a book of business from ground level and reaching my 3, 6 and 12 month goals.  Honestly, there are moments when the goal seems insurmountable.  But what I have to remind myself is that 12 month goals are reached by paying attention to the small details each day-making cold calls, dropping in on accounts, networking, booking appointments and getting told ‘no’ a lot. But if I do the small jobs each and every day, then over the course of time those small tasks will ultimately result in me reaching my goals.

And so it is with life in general.  If your mind has those moments when it wants to overwhelm you with fear and worry, then take a moment and make sure you are conducting your day-to-day habits appropriately.  Always know that the bigger goals are won and lost in how you conduct yourself on a daily basis.

Hope everyone has a great day!

  1. In your illustration you forgot the stumbling on one step and falling back one or two steps. What to do then? Well, get up, put your crown back on and carry on.
Stumbling and even falling isn’t bad as long as you get up again. And the good habits you mentioned are a tremendous help there! Because you just do it by habit 🙂

  2. You have a way of addressing things that are happening in my life. 🙂 I just said to myself today…don’t get ahead of yourself. Stay the course…..
🙂 Good luck to you too.

  3. Danny this is a test..no need to approve. I just left a comment and it’s not here. Wondering if I did something wrong or it’s being moderated so I thought I would try again.

  4. This way of thinking out goals is very similar to what I learned in my chronic pain management clinic. When I can stick to it the plan usually works. Oh, I had a fantastic day, thanks for asking! 🙂

      1. Simplicity sells! All the rest is window dressing. That’s why I have told my friends that when I go on a first date I don’t typically dress up . Let the guy see behind the curtain right from the start. Let then know the t-shirt , jean & gym shoe girl is what they are looking to buy.
        Best to you,
