  1. This is really good advice. I understand what you mean about retail “stealing your soul”. I grew up in a retail business – my father owned a pharmacy/store and I started stocking shelves on Sundays at 14 and as soon as I got my Social Insurance Card at 15 I was put on staff – I didn’t have to work there, I wanted to. But Dad was my best and toughest boss. I put myself through university with jobs in retail and the food industry, both of which have you dealing with the public and they are not always nice as you know. But I think the worst place for that was the eight years I spent working as a civil servant. I won’t go into it but whatever light that was still inside me was gone by the time I went out on my own.
