Let me ask you a question:

Are you a dog person or a cat person?  Or something else?

  1. I’m definitely a dog person. Dogs rock! I’ve grown to love our cats too, and they’re fantastic mousers, an essential thing when living on a farm. But, I’m definitely a dog person. Our donkeys are pretty fantastic too. They’re kinda like big dogs themselves, mindset wise. 😃

  2. I used to only be a cat person. We always have two of them. Even when my kids were little and we had a dog, I was still a cat person. Then… Leilani came to live with us, became my therapy dog, and WHOA, Now and I’m now that person who, goes to the dog park hangs out with the pet parents and talk about our dogs. So, I guess, I’m a cat person, who is also a Leilani person. 🙂 🙂

  3. Hmmmmm it’s a tricky one. I only had cats growing up, and my cat was my buddy when I was living alone. Then we got a puppy and he was my baby. When he was killed, I was devastated. I think I’m easily both, but much prefer small – medium dogs. I can’t do big dogs.

  4. Oh I am 100% a dog person. No doubt. I would rather spend my time with a dog than anyone else if I’m totally honest. I often tell Vivi she is my favorite person. 😉
I was always afraid of cats growing up. I’ve met a couple over the years that I liked, but in general I still am antsy around them. They are SO quick and it freaks me out. My son would love a cat but Steve is allergic so that wont happen while he lives at home. I’m secretly happy about that. 😉

  5. Dog dog dog dog dog ❤ My daughter and her husband have 2 cats in our house, and I really hate the smell of litter box that goes all through the house. And cats get into EVERYTHING, and I am a knitter – the damage they can do to yarn is awful. Other people's cats in their homes are fine, thought (as long as the air smells fresh). 🙂

      • Investing isn’t one of their strong suits – they are paying for their wedding in April. I didn’t even know it was happening until last weekend……..yes, we do “live” under the same roof. Sigh.
Then there’s that thing where people who’ve lived with a smell get used to it, and her fiance has lived with the smell his whole life, so it doesn’t bother him. And she loves the cats so much she will not admit the smell is bad.
How does that go about youth being wasted on the young? Or is it that youth bring on the gray hairs of their elders? 🙂
Just this morning I was thinking of starting a second blog for getting out frustrations of parenting the 20-somethings. Title, “Did I Really Raise That?”

      • Sometimes they overeat, but I kept mine pretty busy. When they’re happy and properly exercised, they’re very disciplined and knew their limitations as far as diet was concerned. In my experience they are like people when they are unhappy they “eat” their feelings. So much personality.

      • The cats I have had suited my personality as well. They knew when to leave me alone and when to be in my face. Whenever I was upset or sick they were intuitive enough to sense it and cuddled at my feet and kept watch.

      • I can see cats being a great animal for someone who is like a cat: independent, looks for love and affection when they need it. But leave me to my alone time when I ask. lol

      • Well that’s me pretty much. An introvert that needs to be left alone for a while after being around a lot of people, until I gather my thoughts, or if you are going to be around please be quiet for about ten minutes while I sort out my thoughts. The last part is depending on what kind of interactions I’ve had during the day.

  6. I’m a peoples person, I understand the love they give people… in the hope that the owners realize their own power… and free themselves and their animals… I grew up on a farm and love how free the dogs and cats are to run in the fields… Much love barbara x

      • Not at all, because it is about pets helping Humankind feel LOVE… that is so greatly needed. However, it would be nice for people to find a way to love themselves based on their own instincts that are naturally awakening now… This would help stop the need for many to line their pockets breeding’the cutest’pets. Isn’t it about time we all rise above the Human Game and be free? x Barbara

      • Okay. I know a few people that believe animals should be free to roam and I can see the legitimacy in their views. I believe I “hear” what is the underlying belief in your words and what you are saying is exactly why I have been kicking the vegetarian diet around in my head. I look at cows in their faces and see a soul in them. I think it might be time for me to stop eating animals.

      • I was more looking at the cross breeding of dogs to create the cute teddy bear dog to dress them up… I don’t like the new fashion trend. Talking about going vegetarian, I like the Islam and ancient traditions of asking permission to the animals to eat them first… mass Factory farming of all animals has also taken a nasty turn. So all in all I work to wake people up, to be conscious of what they are doing. In the meantime I eat a little free range chicken and beef and fresh fish and veg.

  7. I love them both. We have two dogs and a cat. The cat challenges me tough on a daily base. He is a little terrorist but a lovely one 😉 I love the independence cats have. They do things when they want it not when they are told. And they do it their way. I love the dogs for the exact other reason. You can tell them what they have to do and most of the time they listen to you ;-). One thing is for sure: In the future I will only get a dog or cat from a rescue shelter. There are so many out there and you can also find specific breeds if you can wait and really want a specific breed. The amount of love you get from a rescue is on a different level.
