Let Me Ask You A Question – 3/24/17

It doesn’t seem that enough people appreciate what they have; or they don’t take the time to show appreciation.

Let me ask you a question:

What are some things you should show appreciation for that you usually take for granted? Β

  1. Aside from the obvious things I take for granted like life, food, a roof over my head, my family….I would say that I lose sight of where I’ve been and where I am. I forget to appreciate a nicer home, a nicer car, a nicer back account….and so on. I forget how we got along with far less before. That should be appreciated on a daily basis.

  2. Most of the things mentioned above plus: My family, they are loving and caring. My doctors that are thorough. My dogs that give me company when no one else is around.
The AC, I would probably die of heat exhaustion without it. The blogging community that has welcomed me and made me feel important. Thank you everyone!

  3. My husband. Besides loving me, he keeps everything fixed and running. Sometimes he listens without interruption, sometimes. Ha ha! He understands my dreams or at least he encourages me. When I run out of money, he generously gives me more. (Although I do get the lecture about spending within my means.) He likes to go out to eat. Yea! He makes me smile and laugh. Sometimes he tells me I’m pretty. An old woman needs to hear that once in a while. In general, besides loving him, I really like him too. Been married to him 42 years. Been going steady since 1968.

      • I think that it is inherent in human beings to always be trying to “complete” their life as in pieces to a puzzle. If the puzzle becomes complete they either are not happy with it or like it for a bit and then want a new puzzle. Do you mean is society conditioning us? Retailers, celebrity personas and pop culture try to condition us but those people are probably the most unhappy because they “need” so much attention to be falsely happy.

  4. I travel extensively. This month, I left home on the 13th and don’t get back home until the 30th. My wife keeps everything afloat at home with our daughter, our house, our finances, etc. I try to remember not to take her for granted. If I were in charge of these things, we would end up living in a cardboard box under a bridge.

  5. The fact that I have a home even though it’s not perfect. I have my mother around, so I can try to absorb as much as possible. My two legs work even though I have pain. I appreciate that I’ve had my head above water even though my income is not what I would like. So many things…
