Take a few moments to think before answering and then…Let me ask you a question:

How many true friends do you have?

  1. 4, including my wife. There was a 5th, but he committed suicide 26 years ago. Maybe a handful more that were my wife’s friends before we met but that I’ve become close with over the length of our time as a couple. So, In total? Less than 10.

  2. I have 2, We will always have each other’s backs and keep each other’s secrets under lock and key friends.
I have a few other friends that I would also consider true-friends but we don’t have that childhood history with each other.

    • How many do you have? And would all of them do absolutely anything for you? Drive 3 hours in the middle of the night to pick you up if your car breaks down? True friends are hard to find.

      • I guess 5 or 6. I think they would all do anything for me. What’s the point of being friends then. I don’t think I would ask them to do something like drive 3 hours in the middle of the night (I get your point). I would find a cute hotel and explore the place I’m stuck while my car gets fixed.

  3. One of my sisters is a close friend. I lost a good friend two years ago and another last year. My partner is my closed friend, so I would say I have two real good friends, and a whole lot of friends that I sometimes connect with depending on what is going on. I also have a close friend in a far-a-way place but we write constantly. To be honest I sometimes find friendships hard work and I think it best to keep real close friends at 2 or 3 no more.
