Take a few moments to think before answering and then…Let me ask you a question:

What is you favorite movie quote?

  1. The last two lines of “The Lion In Winter”; Eleanor (Katherine Hepburn) is standing on the boat that will take her back to her (presumably luxurious, by 12th Century standards) prison, and Henry II (Peter O’Toole) is on shore. They have spent the Christmas holiday tormenting and plotting against each other with the help of their children and Henry’s young mistress, as well as the young King of France. [They are my favorite dysfunctional family, with the Tudors and George & Martha close behind.] The quote is:

Eleanor: “I hope we never die!”
Henry: “Do you think there’s any chance of it?”
    Both laugh

  2. A difficult question, I have many, but one that was probably my favorite for the longest time from one of my all time favorite movies is…

“Hate is baggage. Life’s too short to be pissed off all the time. It’s just not worth it.”
~ Danny Vinyard ‘American History X’

      • Yes it is a great movie, and it is also my favorite acting role by Edward Norton. That movie really tended to show his diversity as an actor. May would probably argue fight club or some other great movies he is in, but American History X stands out for me. 🙂 Some scenes are definitely hard to watch, but I think it was part of what made the movie great. Like it had to be brutal to get the point behind it across, I guess? Lol.

  3. Ok… gave it a good thinking, and here’s what I have.

My absolute favorite quote is from a French Québécois movie (La vie après l’amour) , so I’ll try to translate it my best:

“Dans la vie, plus ça va mal, plus que t’es proche que ça va bien!”
“Ben j’dois être proche de bien aller en tabarnak!”

“In life, the worst things get, the closer you are to things getting better!”
“Well I must be f*cking close to getting better!”

I also like many quotes from The Money Pit, with Tom Hanks… Two of my favorite are the following:

“Mozart is dead, his troubles are over… Help ME!”

“I’m going to help you…” – “You have a gun??”

Ok, I’m giggling by myself in the living room now…. LOL

  4. It’s terrible because I love movies, I see so many movies, but I can’t think of quotes from my favorite ones. All I can think of is “You had me at hello.” Jerry Maguire, and “You can’t handle the truth!” A Few Good Men.

  5. Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t how hard you hit; it’s about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done. Now, if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain’t you. You’re better than that. From Rocky Balboa.
