My Daily Observation: 12/11/17

I like helping others although I will admit I don’t always like people.  For the most part I don’t like crowds and it seems that our society is becoming more self-absorbed and selfish.  I know there are a lot of quality people in the world, I just don’t see a lot of them on a daily basis.

I have a personal mission statement that states: “seek to add value to the world around me.”  This means each day I work to be patient, teach, lead by example, practice generosity, etc.  I don’t always achieve this mission statement, but it is usually at the forefront of my mind.

Do you have a personal mission statement?  I’d love to read your comments if you do.  Also, in a general sense, do you like people?

  1. I love people. I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and engaging in conversation with them. I think the world is filled with so many people who have something to offer that will somehow make a difference in my life. Sometimes good other times bad however I always learn something from other people. With regards to a mission statement I don’t have one. However I do have rules to live by such as “choose your words carefully. Once a word is spoken you can’t take it back” I try to speak in a way that won’t hurt others. I also live my life to the fullest. I try and experience everything I possibly can and more importantly I live with compassion for others. I give when I can, I help as often I can and I never judge others. My philosophy is none of us are perfect. Last but not least never take anything for granted. In a New York minute everything can change.

  2. Loved your post. There are very less people who actually care about others or are genuine. So when I find one, I appreciate them and feel very lucky. My personal mission statement would be to do good deeds not for others, but to turn ourselves into better human beings.

  3. I try to stay positive and open-minded, when I meet new people. All will get a chance, but if they abuse this chance, they will not get another. Life taught me to remember myself too, why I’m becoming better to listen to my intuition.

I don’t have statements like this, but I like Dalai Lama’s attitude. Be kind – it is always possible to be kind.

  4. 2 Corinthians 3:3. Clearly you are an apistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart. Like you, I don’t always achieve it. But I always go back to that scripture and measure myself by it.

  5. My mission statement is, love is all there is. In my experience, it isn’t that I don’t like people, it is that I am overwhelmed by crowds of people, the energy is more than I can handle. I enjoy being around people when I connect on a one to one basis or in small groups of my choosing.

  6. I like your mission statement Danny. I don’t have a personal mission statement as such, though I do live by the motto “you only live once, so make it count”.
I do like people, though I prefer one on ones to being in a crowd.
