Let me ask you a question:

What is something about you that you would like people to know that might not come across through your blog?

  1. That the square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides of a right triangle. I almost always forget to work this info into my blog posts, but I think it is something people should know, especially those who spend a lot time around triangles.

  2. Hmmm – I don’t write in my blog much directly about myself; things of interest, thoughts and speculations, particular events, yes. And, I reblog a variety of other people’s stuff. So, I think most of the self-revelation is between the lines and I’m not sure how much that is. So, I don’t know.

  3. That’s a tough one, Danny… I think that if I don’t share things here, it is because I keep it for my offline life. My life is very compartimented, in general. Nobody knows everything about me, and nobody would want that either… LOL

  4. I only write about horses and horsey topics in my blog. In the rest of my life there are other things but I don’t blog about them. One thing is that I have been a member of the Amnesty International Urgent Action Network for about 35 years. I send emails on behalf of people who are “prisoners of conscience” and have been imprisoned, disappeared, tortured , held without charge for their race, religion, or peaceful protest of their governments. Often it is like putting a note into a bottle and throwing it into the sea. But sometimes a person is released and reunited with their family, or given access to a lawyer or a doctor or their family. Those are the rewarding moments.

      • I went to Argentina and Chile in 1984 and interviewed several people who had been tortured during the military juntas in those countries. Amnesty International in Toronto gave me the people to connect with to arrange the interviews. Amnesty is an amazing human rights organization founded in 1961 by a British lawyer. Now there are about 7 million AI supporters the world . over. When I got home from Chile and Argentina I had been so moved by the people I had talked to who had been unfairly imprisoned and tortured ( the stories would make you weep I can assure you) I decided to join the Urgent Action Network. This was almost many years ago and it used to be snail mail letters, then later faxes and now emails to government officials in various countries to plead with them on behalf of prisoners of conscience. I don’t do as much now as I used to but I still try to respond when I can.

  5. My extremely diverse interests. Sometimes, My blog is about health and fitness and I feel like I have to stay whithin my niche, but that’s increasingly difficult to do. I’ve thought about having more blogs, but that’s just impossible. However, once I read an article by Jeff Goins that was about how having a niche is not as important as having a writing voice, because you can write about anything you want in the same writing voice. That sounds appealing to me. I’ll probably start doing that.

    • The diverse writing voice is something I read about a couple of years ago which is why I started writing about anything and everything. My blog then became about me and what I’m going through and using that as a way to help others who might be thinking the same. It has changed me as a person.

      • I’ve followed your blog for a couple of years now and I’ve noticed the change, but honestly I think it’s a great blog. It reflects who you are as a person and where you are in life, and those are the best kinds of blogs, I think.
