  1. Yes, I believe in God. No, I do not believe God has a gender. I know the next question will probably be, “How do I know?” or “Why do we call God Father?” My answer to this is that I believe God is so far above human comprehension that the only way we can relate and somewhat understand God is to ascribe human-like attributes to God.

    1. I agree with you 100%. Also, we ascribe the title in the male gender simply because of the time in which most major monotheistic religions were born. But God transcends anything we could ever comprehend. Or at least that what i believe.

      1. It does. And I’m not a huge fan of people who try to tell me they have it all figured out and have all the answers. I actually life the mystery.

      2. I completely agree with you! This is a journey. Regardless of how much we may invest in studying it, there’s always going to be something new and exciting about it.

      1. Its the same as the quote I said to you the other day, politics and religion people avoid it or go rushing in with the whole I am right and everyone else is wrong. I don’t get how people can be so certain either way. I still have no idea what I believe, so I tend to either joke about it or leave it

      2. I love debating politics, I find it interesting that the majority of people think you can only be left or right and not think that maybe one party has some good ideas and other another party also has good ideas and the only reason why you vote for one or the other is you don’t have a lot of choice.

      3. For me it gets too frustrating. I like to talk with people who are willing to have their opinion moved or changed. Not all the time but at least have the attitude of listening to learn something new or learn something that might help influence them to be more informed about how other people think.

  2. No. The experience of a sort of transcendent unity is real and those who have spent serious time with it have been trying to explain and describe it for millennia and some call it “God”.

      1. Energy is in constant motion, sometimes, matter and energy get converted into each other (E=mc2). Actually, it could well be said that energy is motion (both Newton and Einstein would, I think, agree.) — Oh, you mean that other kind of energy, the spooky supernatural kind. Its BS.

      2. Its better than having some grumpy old man in the sky give you one chance to get it right or go to Hell forever. Despite how it sometimes feels, there’s no Ghost in the Machine and consciousness is still a mystery, an emergent property of a sufficiently complex Mind-Body. But the stories to the contrary are, many of them, lovely and/or sources of wisdom.

  3. Yes and yes. The explanation of the last question would take more time and space then I have here. But The short answer is I believe the Bible to be truth. All of it, not just some of it. Parts I like and the parts I don’t like. And in the Bible the male gender is ascribed to him.
