  1. Ooh… That’s a good one. There are quite a few times where my kindness has been taken for granted, or just expected. Meaning, not even a “Thank You” was said. I always seem to brush it off and move on because I’m the type that cannot be unkind to someone. However, my wiseass side has said on a few occasions “You’re welcome by the way…” Hee Hee Hee. 🙂

      1. Funny you should ask… I just started recently “Not” being so freely giving all my energy to those who keep taking advantage. If it’s suggested to go out for something to eat… I’ll always ask now, “You got enough to cover what you want?” I think that person is now getting the big picture. (Finally)… I’m not Rockefeller. 🙂

  2. If I am going to be fully honest I have to admit that sometimes I get all judgmental and butt hurt about it. Thankfully that passes quickly because I know they are more than likely not awake to their behavior. If they were they wouldn’t be such an asshat! So I accept them for who they are, love anyway, continue to be kind but set my boundaries with them going forward.

      1. No they’re not. Some people may not like them but boundaries tell people you respect yourself enough to set a limit of behavior beyond which you will not tolerate.

  3. This happens sometimes, but kindness and generosity should be freely given, expecting nothing in return. I may feel slighted for a moment or two, but it doesn’t influence what I do in the future.

  4. Depends on the person… If it is just someone I barely know, I just stop giving, and walk away. When it comes to close friends, I leave them some time to notice they are taking advantage… if my kindness keeps stuck down a one way road, I also take some distance, though it hurts. Luckily, it never happened with family members, if it did, I have no clue how I’d react.

  5. Well, if I’m in position to let that particular person know I didn’t appreciate it, I let them know, in no uncertain terms. If not able to tell them, I just remember, and am wary of any dealings with them in the future.
