Over the weekend I flew home for a picnic in honor of family members that have passed on, including my mother. There, I make time for activities I don’t participate in when home (relaxation is one of them!). I decided that while sharing a meal is a bonding experience, so is watching the tube. It was interesting to see my stepfather enjoying my mom’s favorite shows, though I could swear he wasn’t interested back then.  As I settled in across from him to share a connection, I realized he is bonding with her in spirit, through television. Married almost 40 years, most were an uphill battle based on her warrior-like efforts to save her adult children from themselves. It didn’t work, by the way, and I’m going to always believe her struggle to save them is one of the reasons she’s in the grave today. We all have choices, however…
