I think there is not one ultimate form of expression of love. I would rather say that, whatever the form, to be ultimate it must fit the context of the circumstances and the relationship, and meet the needs of the loved one in a way they are able to feel freely and truly loved.
I would say it varies by person and situation. For example, my daughter is very in tune to my feelings and she often gives me hugs because she believes I need them. Today a friend was given a cup about fighting cancer. He posted he thought of me, that he’s there for me and that simple gesture moved me to tears. So, I believe it’s highly individualized and there’s not a one-size-fits-all answer.

I assume you believe the action(s) must be grounded in authenticity.

That’s a good question. Hard to come up with specifics, because everybody is different. But I can say this for sure: actions speak louder than words.

Truth. I think being present. Listening. Are a good place to start.

I agree with the guys above but maybe it’s “being there”.

I think that is the best place to start. You can be completely silent but be present at the exact right time and it can be the best love ever.

But would you say there are commonalities behind all expressions of love? For instance, authenticity?

To push for more specifics,…what does that mean?

I like all of those. Sometimes I fail in the “don’t take things out on Eve” area.

That would definitely be the ultimate expression. Dying for someone to give them life.

I like the word compassion. Sometimes I lack compassion, but mostly for myself. lol

If someone wanted to show me their love for me, they would buy me a mansion with an indoor swimming pool and a helicopter pad on the roof.
If I want to show my love for them I am just there, sometimes to talk, sometimes to listen, sometimes to hug.
I admit, in monetary terms it is a tad unfair 😉

I think being present when someone needs you is a huge expression of love.
