What type of discovery would it take for you to believe in life on other planets?

  1. The clearest, if the planet is outside our solar system, would be a planet near the same size as Earth in the “Goldilocks Zone” with water vapor, free molecular oxygen in the atmosphere, which would indicate a high probability of photosynthetic plant life, and carbon dioxide, which would indicate aerobic animal life in a stable carbon cycle with the plants. For a planet in the solar system, the best evidence would be actual living organisms.

  2. I think we’re close to discovering some type of life. Planets and moons with water and ice have been discovered. It’s only a matter of time before some type of simple cellular life is found. As for sentient life from other planets, some type of contact that is reputably documented and verified would be the most acceptable proof.
