Do you buy the conspiracy theory that the medical industry doesn’t really want people healthy because healthy people means less revenue for them?

I am not sure on this, but its a lot more likely than some of the other theories I have seen

I believe man walked on the moon. I believe there is an Area 51. I’m not sure about the whole alien here are earth stuff. But this kind of makes sense. If every human were healthy a bunch of corporations would lose all their money. Cancer cures are not as lucrative as cancer treatment.

This is true, however I do wonder if that is why governments are pushing for insurance instead of free healthcare, can’t earn money one way get it another

That is a good point.

Not sure about the medical profession as in the case of Drs and nurses because in the UK they are overworked and overloaded as it is, but I wouldn’t put anything past the pharmaceutical companies 😈

But if people are healthy, hospitals stand to lose a ton.

Haha, I think they are pretty safe, even if we conquer all known disease Mother Nature will ensure the equilibrium 😀

There are some parts of the health care industry I could suspect of such a predatory way of thinking, but if so, they are responding to a larger system rife with perverse incentives. And, palliatives are much less work to produce than cures – path of least resistance. So, do we have health care or sickness care?

That is a superb question! I would argue we have sickness care.

Yes, I do. Hospitals and pharmaceutical companies are BIG business today. If people are healthy and don’t visit hospitals and doctors and/or buy their drugs and medications, then these will both lose out on BILLIONS of $$$$$$. You can see this on how the doctors aren’t really allowed to focus on getting to know their patients any more, but rather have them on an assembly line procession.

And it really is an assembly line system. Like Bob asked, do we have health care or sickness care?

I think we have more sickness care than health care.

Not sure about the whole medical industry, but I would agree to that regarding the pharmaceutical industry.

Pharmaceuticals are 100%. I don’t trust them for anything!

Me either!

Yep. There’s no money in good health. I primarily distrust the pharmaceutical companies and the FDA, each for different reasons.

The FDA is an absolute joke. Biggest conflict of interest along with the credit bureaus!

EVERYTHING DC related is a joke. 😏

I definitely believe this. A lot of the ‘credible’ research out there has been supported and funded by the pharmaceutical companies themselves, and much of it conflicts with the work of independent scientists from all over the world.
The field of U.S. cancer care is organized around a medical monopoly that ensures a continuous flow of money to the pharmaceutical companies, medical technology firms, research institutes, and government agencies such as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and quasi-public organizations such as the American Cancer Society (ACS). – Ralph Moss, Ph.D., quoted by John Diamond, M.D., & Lee Cowden, M.D. in Alternative Medicine: The Definitive Guide to Cancer

I have believed this conspiracy since I saw the movie Medicine Man with Sean Connery. There is a lot less money in curing than treating.

I would state that they have a captured market which gives them unfair advantages over the consumer.

I’ve never heard that one. Interesting though. I’ll be back to read peoples answers.
Great question.

The pharmaceutical industry is definitely driven by profits and not health. They repress health and healthy cures that are already known, due to their not earning a profit. The cancer industry is definitely profit driven. There are many drugs that only treat symptoms and have horrible side effects. The drug companies definitely are not interested in health! They try to stop the voice of those with alternative more healthy things.

I don’t know about the “Medical Industry” I am not on much in the way of medication so I can’t comment on that. But I believe that the medical profession, doctors, specialists, surgeons, and all others related to treating people do want us to be healthy. That has been my experience. If it were not true I would be dead at least twice over by now.

The pharamoceutical industry, private health funds and private hospitals are all in the business of making money. I do not believe that doctors really don’t want healthy people. I have been in hosptal four times this year for cardiac related issues and also cancer, the doctors and nurses did everything they could to make me well and healthy.

Absolutely. The medical professions and pharmaceutical companies want to create customers, not cures.

I tend to agree. Maybe one of the conspiracies I buy.

No. What conspiracy is when natural meds that are cheap are not shared with people and making meds that are expensive to use.

I think this would play right into the conspiracy I proposed. Withholding medicine keeps people sick which causes them to spend more money.
