That question is just baffling me. It’s been a long life with so many gifts, large and small given, some planned, others impulsive, what would be the point in taking pride in them? It makes no sense to me. It could well be that some thing small to me may have had the greatest impact that I never knew of.
I think a true gift (as opposed to a bribe or a quid pro quo) is not about me. It is about the relationship, even if that relationship is as fleeting as a few coins into the hands of a panhandler, or as large as a posthumous bequest to one’s alma mater.
I guess I could get all mushy and say, my three kids. It’s my unique gift from love of another person that no one else can give.
