A Quick Update If You Are Interested…
I know it has been a minute since I last posted something other than a reblog or a question. The truth is I haven’t had much interest in writing anything and I’m not sure why. Every time I’ve opened up a new draft I have deleted it after a few seconds and then moved on to something else.
Today Evelina and I are going to Tanger Outlet to do a little shopping. The strange thing is it was my idea and I’m actually looking forward to walking around and looking at stuff. I’d like to find a new belt, a couple of packs of new white t-shirts and maybe a new shirt. Plus they have a little food court there where we might be able to find a good lunch.
Other than that not much new going on in our lives. Oh, we are building a new house which is incredibly exciting and stressful all at the same time.
I am not traveling as much with the job, but it looks like that will end in the next couple months and then I’ll be out on the road. I was a little upset about getting grounded, but I’m realizing that everything seems to work out for a reason and I believe my body and mind needed the break.
That’s all for now. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Danny
Danny, I can totally relate about writing! I have been struggling to write for nearly 2 months. I think every writer goes through dry spells. I recently read a book called “The Bully Pulpit” about the early 20th century Progressive Era. The journalists who worked for S.S. McClure were allowed to research and write a piece for months before publication. Sometimes I wonder if the effort to constantly crank out content wears us out. 🤔

It becomes a struggle after a few years, but I have decided that I will publish when I want to. If I don’t want to I do not.

I understand. sometimes we have ideas but feel like we have nothing to say. I am considering ending my blog.

I thought about doing the same thing. But in the end I decided that I would post when I wanted to not because I felt like I had to.

I’ve been working to create a que of posts and that’s helped. I’m about a month ahead for each of the three days a week that I post. Now I’m not pressuring myself to produce. I just need to maintain the que. it’s much less pressure on myself, and it frees up time for other things.

But there again as far as a blog is concerned this rates 😜 I only go shopping if there is a promise of food ha. But there again even the Meatballs won’t tempt me into Ikea 😂

In the U.S. Ikea got busted for having horse meat in their meatballs.

Oooh Danny..
Being grounded can be very good.. and you probably need the break..
but it does take a little getting used to….
I’m struggling too with motivation to write.. just can’t come up with anything of great interest…
And right now I can’t get the complete solitude to be fully focused…
Hope you find that belt and other stuff you are hoping to pick up…
And it’s so nice to hear from you….
Thanks for the update…
Continue to let us know what you are up to from Time to time

I have realized my body and mind needed this break. I would not have rested had this not happened.

Yep 👍…
Sometimes god has to intervene to direct us to what we really need…
Every thing has a reason..
So just go with it Danny

Building a house?? No wonder you don’t feel much like writing. Though I’m fascinated by stories that come from such an undertaking! Wishing you all good things…

The house building has been a bit stressful. There’s a lot going on all at the same time.

I know the feeling. I was actually not even getting any comments because I had stopped writing or reading. I am trying to get myself back into a routine and writing more. Good luck with the new house and getting to be out on the road again.

Lovely post, Danny! I think everyday routine like shopping can be such a wonderful thing… And then you’ve got enough excitement with your new house, anyway!

Hi Danny!!!!!! I think that you should hold on to your drafts. Obviously, you were feeling something at the moment, you just may have needed to flesh out your thought. I mean no one else sees it so no big deal but it could turn out to be something wonderful when your thought comes together. And I think forced groundings turn out to e exactly what we needed but we just couldn’t see it because life is moving too fast. But, they can be oh so painful when you want to keep moving.
