Airport experiences

Susie Shy 45

I was writing my morning pages today when I thought about an experience I had coming through a major South Indian airport. My husband being an ERCP- ist had ordered radiation protection glasses to be shipped to my Indian address. The glasses arrived duly and were packed among other things in my check in baggage. Emigration and check in went on like clockwork. I was in the airport hoping to have a good shopping experience having saved some spending money during the trip. I was in the Duty Free shop when I heard my name being called the public announcement system. As is usual for me, I thought they were calling someone else until something about the name sounded familiar and it clicked in my brain that they were actually calling me. So I hurried towards the airlines counter, from where a girl accompanied me to the innards of the…

There’s a first to everything…

Cyranny's Cove

And I can’t believe it took me this long to try this.

I watch my fair share of cooking tv shows. And one thing that always amazed me was to see people make fresh pasta from scratch for one hour challenges! I mean, it does look easy, but as much as I am confident in my cooking skills, making fresh pasta seemed totally out of my league!

And last Christmas, my parents offered me whole pasta kit. Semi professional rolling mill and all the gadgets that come with it.

So tonight, I rolled up my sleeves, and I decided to try to make spaghetti. First I had to mix and work the pasta dough. Surprisingly, it went pretty well, and after ten minutes of kneading, I left my dough to sit for half an hour…

Helgstrand Dressage and Haute Couture Horses!

HorseAddict

Wednesday, January 9. 2019 was the ‘preview’ of the horses at Helgstrand Dressage. This is the creme de la creme of dressage horses. They have many of the qualities of haute couture fashion garments: high-quality, expensive, sewn with extreme attention to detail and finished by the most experienced and capable sewers. These horses are high quality, trained with extreme attention to detail and ridden by highly capable riders. And yes, they are expensive. Here are some photos from the evening.

Andreas Helgstrand introduced the horses and told us where they came from and how long he had them. He said that every horse he would takes on must have three good gaits. If the trot was spectacular but the walk was not good that horse would not be brought to Helgstrand Dressage.

One of my favorites was a smaller horse who was described at “green for his age”. He was…

I Am My Own Island

These sayings were on my Facebook feed this last weekend. They ate so fitting.

It’s always amazing to me when the universe gives us little reminders to stay the course. I’m so thankful maybe Facebook isn’t all bad lol

The Silent Soldier

www.sceneoetry.com

He is the hero who stands beside you always

Have you ever noticed him during any occasions

Fulfilling your demand while isolating his own ones?

Just take a second and look at his eyes

You will face a fellow, believes in the hope of light.

The nights till now you have been sleeping without any fear

The credit, you will never know, goes to his unseen tears.

The tears that converted into a powerful resource

Leading everything smooth even at a stage of very worse.

He never demanded anything, nor he will but

Just doing his noble job selflessly that you must concede.

He is the one who always believes silently that you can

Standing beside you even when you think you have none.

#Specially dedicated to all fathers.
