Dear Reader

I’m home again after being at the hospital since the 8. of June. I came home late Monday and now I try to find a new rhythm in my new life

As many of you know, my daughter was so kind to update you about, what was going on with my health, for what I’m very grateful and huge thanks to my dear friend Amy for her kind help with posts, while I was away

I don’t have much energy or abundance yet, but I wish to let all of you know, that I feel very grateful for all your love, prayers and kind wishes for both my family and me

For describing my health simply, when I went into the hospital; I got an serious infection in my lungs and my other organs were close to shot down too. The doctors told me, that if I was…

Today is Good

The PBS Blog

That amazing future and glorious tomorrow. Always enticing us to move time forward so that we may rush what is now for a moment much more beautiful than this. A tomorrow much more gorgeous and radiant than the present. The present. What of this? What of now? What of our quest for some rare and perfect tomorrow when today is already a precious gift? Today is normal but it is here and living and present. We know not what the future holds. In fact, we know nothing but now. This moment. This treasure of breath in mouth. Today is good.

Good evening 💕

Things to Remember when Seeking Book Reviews

Craft a Professional Email

There’s a lot that goes into what it means to be professional so I won’t linger, but you don’t have to have worked in corporate to understand it. In today’s world, you don’t have to be anyone special to get tons of emails. With Social Media, everyone practically has one as it is needed for most social media platforms. In short, we all get them and we all scan and then delete them. To increase your chance of getting your email noticed, be sure your email is first professional.

Don’ts:

  • Don’t use a blanket “To Whom it May Concern” or “Dear Blogger” or “Dear Book Blogger” or worse “Hey”
  • Don’t talk about how good the book is.
  • Don’t abbreviate words. This isn’t a text message. This is a professional business correspondence. (no IKR, THUR, THO, etc.)
  • Don’t attach your book(s) to the email. You don’t…

My A – Z Codependency Challenge – G

Diary of a Recovering Codependent

Gullible, Guilt

I use to be so gullible; I believed just about anything anyone would tell me. If Chicken Little would have told me, “the sky is falling”, I would have been right there with him, running in circles and trying to save everyone.

Somehow I believed that I was needed, wanted and loved based on the subtle (sometimes even blatant) lies someone would tell me. I could not see the manipulation in their words and actions. I could not sort out the truth from fiction as someone told me about their life or problems. I could not see how they were using me just to get what they wanted or needed. I “use to be” so gullible.

And because I was so gullible, I was always racked with guilt. All Chicken Little had to do was tell me that it was my fault the sky was falling and I would…

Earth Day 2017 — March for Science

Lucky Otters Haven

earthday9top

In these days of dangerous lies called alternative facts and facts touted by our leaders as fake news,  the celebration of Earth Day has never seemed more important.  All over the nation today, people in cities big and small gathered to defend science and scientific research.  Scientific knowledge and education is important to keep our water and air clean, our food healthy and safe, and keep our young people educated instead of indoctrinated in ignorance.

The organizations that sponsored our event.

In one important sense, the Trump presidency is the best thing that could happen to our country, because it’s forcing people to wake up and finally take a stand for the things that really matter.   I doubt there would be this level of activity had Hillary won the election.   People would remain stuck in their apathy and cynicism.

It’s encouraging that so many cities had such a big…

Second Wind Leisure Perspectives

Yosemite Valley with Bridalveil Falls

If you are a wilderness geek like me, you might know that today, April 21st is the 179th birthday of John Muir. If you didn’t know, let me tell you why he may have been considered (in my eyes) one of the most important men on Planet Earth.

John Muir was a Scottish-American naturalist, author, environmental philosopher and early advocate of preservation of wilderness in the United States. He was the founder of the Sierra Club.

According to sources, Muir petitioned the U.S. Congress for the National Park bill that was passed in 1890, establishing Yosemite as our second National Park. Do you know which was the first? (hint: also starts with a “Y”).

The spiritual quality and enthusiasm toward nature expressed in his writings inspired readers, including presidents and congressmen, to take action to help preserve large nature areas.

He is today referred to as the “Father of the…

Don’t panic!

It’s all right after all!

The quarrying is finished!

Is it?‘ I hear you cheer in relief, ‘how on earth do you know?
Well if you remember they did a bit of scraping about a few months back, we thought it may be a test hole – but no; I’m very pleased to report that that was it! Quarry dug.

Now we know you’re raving – that chairman at the public meeting was right!‘ was not really the response I was looking for.

If you’ll listen for a few seconds longer than he did I’ll tell you how I know – and that is because they’ve moved straight on to phase II – the infilling phase, see the picture attached, that’s how I figured it out.

Pardon?
You know, I think you may have something there.
I never thought of that.
They don’t…
