8 Fall Lipstick Colors You Haven’t Tried Yet

Hey, loves! Fall is upon us, and I can’t think of a better season to rock those bold lip colors you’ve always wanted to try. I typically wear bold colors year-round so I’ve had enough time to test out the quality of each of these lipsticks. Here’s a list of my favorite fall shades, and the best part is, most of these are under $10!

My favorite fall lipstick has to be this terra-cotta shade that looks stunning on all skin tones. Coral sunset lasts all day long, not to mention it smells like vanilla!

Nothing screams “fall” like a berry lipstick. More Better is my go-to bold shade for weddings. I constantly get asked what shade I am wearing, so it seems like this one’s…

Today’s Featured Blog…Discovering Sooz!

Discovering Sooz

I love Halloween as an adult, I love it as much as giving sweeties to kids who knock at the door, decorating a little, and doing some face paint or other.

However, that is where it ends.

My first experience of Halloween as a child that I remember, is going to an event in the middle of nowhere, meant for children, I was about 5. I was dressed up as a little witch, bin-bag and all. My little bob cut and a broom.

Then it came to spooky stories by the fire, I was listening intently, partly due to my hearing problems, I couldn’t hear a fucking word. Then some devil incarnate, jumped out on me from behind, it was lucky I was potty trained, as otherwise that would have been messy, instead I screamed and cried until my Mum took me home, said devil was mortified, and tried everything…

Layers of Autumn

Second Wind Leisure Perspectives

Layers of drops on layers of leaves

As the autumnal equinox makes its mark today on the Northern Hemisphere, (Fall is here), I’m sharing these photos of layers of leaves.

Layers of Yellow Leaves

Fall is my favorite time of year, and this week the unseasonably cool weather brought a hint of Autumn to Northern California. I am so ready.

Layers of Fallen Autumn Leaves

I got some good news this week about my job as a university lecturer, and peace, along with the Fall-like weather, just seemed to descend upon me after a few weeks of dealing with uncertainty.

Today, as this blog posts, I am spending the morning with 80 university students playing various games and engaging in some fun water sports and activities at the Aquatic Center, enjoying the layers of leisure.

12 reasons why I don’t like autumn.

Lucky Otters Haven

ugly_autumnIn my neck of the woods, this is what Autumn looks like.

Yesterday was the first cool-ish day we’ve had since May.   While the lower temperature felt nice, I also noticed for the first time that some of the trees are beginning to change colors.  It was also overcast and gloomy, and I realized that my SAD symptoms have kicked in full bore.   I just felt like crawling into bed to escape from the sadness I felt.   After winter, fall is my least favorite season.   Here are 12 reasons why I hate it.

1.  Around here, the “changing colors” just means the trees change from green to brown to bare.  A few turn this unattractive shade of deep maroon or this dirty looking yellow, but unless you go up to the Parkway, we really don’t get the brilliant fall colors you see in places further north…

Definitely Autumn…

I love the autumn!

Cyranny's Cove

Gone summer…

For two days now, Autumn has settled in Montréal. The trees had dressed in different shades of yellows, oranges and reds a while ago, but it didn’t really count yet, since it was still very warm all day, and the sun was almost always out there shining high and bright.

Gone the warm weather, and gone the sun too, now.

I’m walking home from work… It’s been a long long day. Almost as long as my to-do list… There’s so much to be done.

Wash clothes for the week to come. Clean the kitchen… because, well, cleaning won’t take care of itself even if I am up since 3h45 am. Start plannin Chéri and little bro’s birthdays. Replying to messages received during the afternoon, preparing my answer to two blogging awards, because yes, Suze and Betcha Didn’t Know nominated me, and even if my energy level flirts with…

Bet Me Crusie

Introducing a new subscriber to my page…Michelle, Books & Movies Addict!! Check her reviews out and leave and warm welcome message!

Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie 4

(The short synopsis: heroine (h) gets dumped by a jerk. Jerk then tries to bets the hero (H) that H and h won’t have sex within a month. The h knows about the bet but dates H anyway. Chaos ensues with jerk trying to stop h/H and also chaos with a lot of family drama.)

A typical Crusie Chick Lit book. But in this case I did like the characters. The story line was ok. Bonnie and her fairy tale fantasies was great (other character’s fantasies were good too). The bet the “Cal” (did or did not) make with “Min” seemed like just an excuse the author used to keep the characters apart. Whenever Min wasn’t thinking of the bet, she and Cal were inseparable. And even had a touch of instant-love (seems like a norm for a Crusie book).

I liked all…

Haunted Decorations (Salem, MA)

This is New England Nomad! I was born in Holyoke, Ma and have a few friends from Salem, so seeing these pics brought back some great memories of trips in New England!

New England Nomad

There’s something magical about Halloween.  It’s a time when adults can still pretend to be a kid again, even just for one night.  Even the most mature, sober person can forget their responsibilities and relive their carefree days just a little.

For the remainder of the week, I will be posting the remaining photos from my trips to Salem, MA.  In this edition, I am posting photos of the various decorations, some other miscellaneous things and, of course, a few dogs from my travels in Salem.

Salem is known world wide for getting into the spirit of Halloween.  Everywhere you look, there are decorations of the season.

Besides the vendors selling merchandise there are also games and other fun types of activities.  This particular activity was meant to see if people could maintain eye contact with a complete stranger and possibly make a connection, even on just a platonic level…
