Feel Good Friday: Patrick Henry Hughes

Purple Almond Wellness

You may have heard of this incredible young man and his amazing father. They have been featured on TV shows and magazines all across the country.  Patrick Henry was born without eyes or the ability to straighten his arms and legs, requiring the use of a wheel chair. He also has two steel rods in his back to correct his scoliosis.

To errishuman...to forgiveis divine

But that hasn’t stopped this talented young man. Patrick Henry is a gifted musician, performer and public speaker. He began playing the piano at the age of 9 months. He sings, plays the trumpet, and with the help of his father, performed with the University of Louisville marching band for 5 seasons.

This story isn’t just about Patrick Henry. It’s about his father as well. I had tears in my eyes as I heard what this father goes through on a daily basis to help make Patrick Henry’s dreams come…

Making Better Decisions

Great healthy living advice from Musings from Miami!

Assorted Thoughts

1- Start the day right

Whether that means having a ton of protein, working out, or making your coffee at home (I make my coffee exactly how I like it better than any barista). Figure your shit out and do it.

2- Show up

3- Pick your battles

You can’t give equal fucks about everything. It’s just not possible. And if you disagree, then you’re delusional. Learn to let shit go. Sometimes it takes less energy to stand there and wait it out while someone acts like a fool than to actually do something about it. In times like those, save your energy for things that matter. Like picking what show you’re going to bingenext on Netflix. It’s all about priorities.

4- Ask for help

No one is perfect, nor are we perfectly capable of weathering every metaphorical storm. Being vulnerable to and with others is how we bond as…

This is a new blog I’m following: Chape Personal Trainer!!

Chape Fitness

I like listening music while reading and writing. Press play (if you will) as garnish 🙂

I wanted to post this yesterday, but you know, shit happens. Am I late? Time is relative, someone famous said once 🙂

Blogging is something new for me. There is no “about me” on purpose (or phobia?). Anyway, I´ve read a lot about all of you, and I felt we´re not even. So here it is, my unexpected little autobiography. No filters or poetic licenses, I hope you´ll enjoy it.

I was born in 1978 in a seaside spanish town. Since the 80´s we are the first point of entry of drugs in Europe. A real drug Lady taught me to read and write. Add and subtract. You´re right, she owned the kindergarten. Obviously, I found “the drug thing” much later.

I was very shy. My mother forced me to go out to play with other…

Four common breakfast mistakes and how to fix them

#1: You skip the meal as a whole to save calories

Forgoing breakfast may seem like a calorie-saver, but it can actually be a fat trap (gasp!). Researchers at Imperial College London found that when people went without a morning meal, their brand reward centres lit up when they were shown images of high-calorie foods. That means turning down treats becomes harder, and you’re likely to make up for the missed calories with junkier choices later…
