This is The Courage To Shift!



When I finally stopped and drilled down to the source of feeling like something was missing from my life, I realized I had to do something different. I had two major wounds that weren’t healing, and they had become a cancer in my soul turning me into a person I didn’t want to become.  I needed to address a failing marriage and a dead-end career. Both would challenge my financial situation and while it would be hard, I knew I would be better off in the long run. I mentally prepared for the beatings I was about to take and set off on my life altering journey.

Finding a Mentor That’s Right For You

A mentor is a guide and counselor who provides career advice and support. This relationship—also a process—often involves a younger person seeking out the guidance of a more experienced employee or supervisor.

In some cases, a mentor provides this service as way to do good or “pay it forward.” Perhaps someone in their past took the time to help them out in their career development, and to honor the kindness and help they received, they seek to share their abilities with someone new.

Some schools, companies, and social organizations may have formal mentorship programs that match a more experienced person with a less experienced person.

I’ve read, seen and heard this term “fake it till you make it” quite a bit the past few years. It’s supposed to mean that if you’re struggling with something, finding something hard, or just plain having a hard time and not doing well, you can pretend you’re doing better than you are and eventually you’ll really be doing better than you are. I think there is a tiny bit of truth to this if it’s meant in the same sense that C.S. Lewis wrote about when he said:

“Do not waste time bothering whether you ‘love’ your neighbor; act as if you did. As soon as we do this we find one of the great secrets. When you are behaving as if you loved someone you will presently come to love him.”
