I can usually recognize an open-minded person by two characteristics: they listen and they ask questions. Do you do all the talking or are you a listener?
Do not limit your experiences by limiting your thinking. Open your mind, open your world!
Maybe I’m particularly open-minded when it comes to my circle of friends… I have gay friends, lesbian friends, black friends, Indian friends, colored friends, rich friends, poor friends, you name it!!! But it goes beyond “not seeing in color”, I see my friends for what they are, but I ‘accept them for who they are’, and whatever other clichés you wanna chuck in there…
How can you not be that open-minded though?! Like, older generation I understand, but as a young South African, how can you admittedly say you only want to interact with about 2% of the population?! How boring!! Stop mingling with people who think the same as you, study the same thing, come from the same wealth-class, from the same culture… Open your eyes, open your mind, and you’ll realize you can learn a shitload from “different” people.
Further than interacting how do you ever expect to…

Live Free, Live Healthy believes your attitude is your choice and I agree wholeheartedly! Another great post showing us that you must make the effort to focus your mind on the positives of life and minimize the negatives.
Every single day. No matter if the temperature has dropped down to 37, if the cat bit your toe while you got dressed in the dark at 5AM, if you spilled hot chocolate down the front of your white blouse, if your bedroom window has a draft, if your coworker doesn’t save you a spot at the lunch table—you make the choice, in every moment of every day, to be happy.

Don’t be misled, your attitude is your decision! YOU decide to be negative or YOU decide to be positive. It is 100% a choice! We could all learn from Planting Positivity!!
Working in a service industry (photography) can sometimes make it easy for me to complain.
I recently had a client claim they were thrilled with the photos I sent to them, only to turn around and nit-pick one image, asking for me to provide them with a different shot, and to edit a whole slew of things on it that I hadn’t seen as an issue visually.
I immediately felt a flush of heat to my face when I got the email from my client… I was angry for about five minutes, and then I realized that my main goal as a photographer is to make my clients happy through the images I can provide them with. I had a decision to make: tell the client, “Sorry, that’s the image I chose to edit and per your contract that’s all you get.” Or, go ahead and put two hours of…

I am of the opinion that attitude is a choice. I have this opinion because I was once a negative thinker. After nearly a year of changing my mindset I now consider myself an optimist. AND I am a better person for having done so.
Question: How does attitude affect the success or failure of a construction project?
Answer: Optimism and pessimism are attitudes you are free to choose and to embrace. Whether for good or bad, your thoughts make you who you are. They direct your self-fulfilling prophecies. Positive or negative self-talk becomes reinforced into the paradigm that you have determined and then produces evidence to support your belief. If you think you will have a bad project, then you are definitely right. If you think you will have a good project, you’re probably right.
Point: Attitude is a matter of personal choice. It is the key that either opens you to success or locks you out.
We must remain open-minded and be willing to listen to other views. The world is a big place and we are but one very small part, with a very small world view.
I have lived in different places all around the world. I have met people coming from different Counties. I have traveled to an indefinite number of different Cities. I have been eager to learn about different cultures. I have always wanted to discover different ways of thinking.
And yet, here I am, feeling exposed and realizing how narrow my point of view has always been. I guess this is the effect Berlin has on people. With its extreme unconventionality, its exaggerated extravagance, its limitless freedom and its unbalanced personality. And when you are left with no boundaries. When there seem to be no more right and wrong. When all that is bad starts to be considered good. When all that you have learned seems to have no meaning. That is when you will finally start to understand what this city is all about. And in that moment you will realize that you…
