The Act of Prayer #Thisis38

Making Time For Me

I pray at least once EVERY SINGLE DAY.  Usually first thing in the morning, I pray for anything and everyone that is on my mind.  I just run the gamut of everything that is in my head.

Then sometimes throughout the day, I take a pause and pray for something very intentional and purposeful.  I talk to God about what is on my heart and give my worries to him.  It helps, because I soon as I lift it up to the Lord I feel a sense of peace.

I do not usually pray out loud (only at church).  I do not usually pray in front of other people (only at church).  I do not pray so that someone can see me or hear me doing it and think “oh what a good Christian” or “oh what a Godly woman”.  I pray for myself, for the act of prayer itself…

A Bowl of Chili

A Jeanne in the Kitchen

We had a blizzard here yesterday.  There were complete white-out conditions, it was frigidly cold, the roads were a complete disaster and the sky dropped 10 inches of snow at my house.  This was all in the morning hours of the day.  I was out and tried to brave those conditions before turning around and calling it a day.  Once I was safely at home, there was no way I was going back out into that mess.  NO WAY!  But as bad as it was for those few short hours, by the afternoon, it was back to blue skies and sunshine.  As I sit here looking out my window right now, most of that slushy mess on the roads yesterday is gone and the snow is already starting to melt some.  Awwwww! Life in Colorado!  As bad as it was on the outside though, it was perfect day to stay…

And the sleep just gets longer

Its good to be crazy Sometimes

Almost 7 hours tonight, I am counting this as a massive win, I also got woken up by my alarm rather than waking myself up at 4am and not being able to get back to sleep.

Lets see how much longer this will last

Live Free 2 Sail Fast

Good Morning Everyone, it’s been a crazy long week and more to come next week.  This whole week I’ve been working on the boat (of course) but I’ve also been going to night classes at Training Resources Limited Maritime Institute (TRLMI) for a Diesel Engine Maintenance Course.  YES, I’m still trying to improve my weak mechanical skills and since I have a firm grasp on my own failings, I already know that I’m not the greatest at mechanical stuff…..and the high jump!  As a bonus this afternoon, we were allowed to go on a field trip to check out the engines on Captain Zach’s Newton 46 dive boat.  Zach is one of the students in the class and owns Waterhorse Charters and Dive Shop (in San Diego).  Because San Diego has a large sunken warship (Yukon) just off the coast, Waterhorse Charters specializes in taking folks out there…

Monkey

Its good to be crazy Sometimes

Monkey has found computer games, I honestly think these fucking things should not be allowed to anyone under the age of 18.

Monkey seems to think he should be able to spend the time he gets in the door to the time he goes to bed on the fucking x box.

I disagree

So far, I am stunting his growth as a human, I am very mean, I don’t love him anymore

And this is just based on a few hours, not a few hours a day, just a few hours.

I came up with a compromise that he could have an hour on the xbox and he had to read me 2 pages of his book. It was like I started world war 3 and very possibly have wiped out all human race.

Being a parent is tough, but this is the first time we have come across something…

Share Your World: January 7, 2019

sonofabeach96

Time for this week’s Share Your World from SparksFromACombustibleMind.

Here are her questions for the week:

Did you have to help out with chores when you were growing up?  If so, what were you assigned to do?

Yeah, I sure did.  My parents divorced when I was pretty young, so being raised by a working, single mom, I was a “latchkey kid” and had to contribute.  A little of it all.  Cleaning, laundry, garbage duty, dog duty, and even simple cooking.

Have you ever researched your family tree?   What do you know about your family’s roots?

A bit.  On my dads side, I’m predominantly Danish.  On my moms side, some Italian and mostly English.  Like most Americans, or humans in general, for that matter, I’m a Heinz 57 genetically.

What’s your cure for hiccups?

I promise!  This works…every single time.

Get glass of water and…
