Walking through this reality feeling forsaken without cause
With all the time in the world I ask myself which flaws

Were enough to push people away; to make people stay
in the shadows of my presence.

I'm Not sure what's coming next;
My sudden demise through means complex.
They all scream good riddance

I’d like to believe theres hope for a failure like me
For a sad man walking through thick sufficating reality

In my solomn hour
The mood feels desire

For in my life bad things transpire
Inhalation of smoke keeps me flying higher.

Trying to be like the clouds because inside I’m dark and sometimes cry
down upon the world my problems seem to drown

Bleeding out. My solemn Hour.

MOTIVATIONAL VIDEO FOR THE WEEK

This is One More Shot Please!

ONE MORE SHOT PLEASE

Don’t give up your dream because someone tells you it isn’t worth it. No one knows what destiny has planned for you, so believe. Believe in yourself for your self-satisfaction. If not for yourself, then believe for the sake of the people who took risks in life and made something great of their lives. Respect them, and respect yourself.

The hope that ignites a spark,

dies out as it fades to dark,

on hearing dispiriting remarks.

They love me but hate the art.

Your Numbers Might Change, But the Work Stays the Same

dream-big-print

One fact about blogging that does not change-regardless of follower numbers-is the work.  I am still doing today what I did 2 1/2 years ago.  I’m still using the same basic tactics Jason over at Harsh Reality began teaching me way back when.  I still visit other pages (although not as often as I would prefer), I still respond promptly to comments, I still interact and treat WordPress just as I do the other social media sites.  I still hustle and I still challenge and push myself.  Getting 2,000+ views per day isn’t some magical occurrence that just happens one day.  And it isn’t what I thought it would be.

I recall the first time I received 100 views in a day-I thought it was the most amazing thing.  Then I remember the first time I received 1,000-it was the same feeling.  I also recall the first time I received 5,000 views in a day-same feeling.  Do you see what I’m getting at?  The benchmarks are amazing, but it still left me wanting more.  And stat numbers are great, but the results are relative.  Each benchmark changes which proves how dynamic and fluid blogging really can be.  With all the growth, I am still doing the same basics now that I did when I had 400 followers.

So what’s my point you might ask?

Your numbers might change, but the work stays the same.  Engage, interact, read, LIKE, Follow, be a social media champion, use StumbleUpon, use Flipboard and always be on the look out for new and creative ways to promote yourself. For instance, I have recently begun to dabble it Facebook advertising for my FB blog page. Not sure where it will lead, but it is something I always wanted to do so I’m doing it.  I also recently (December) branched out to YouTube-the future of the internet-to help grow my reach.

I think it is easy to look at other’s and have blog envy and I’ll admit that I did and sometimes still do.  The fallacy that existed in my mind was that when I achieved a certain number of followers, then I would be content; I would have arrived.  The truth is that growth happens so slowly that I realize I’ll never be content-even when I hit 100,000 followers.  I still have to respond to comments.  I still have to read other blogs.  I still LIKE and follow.  I still engage on a real level.  I still give back to the community.

Your number might change, but the work stays the same.  As Jason says “You just gotta keep on grinding man.”
